The OBX Helical limited differential powers both the drive wheels under nearly all conditions, instead of just one.With an ordinary open differential,standard on most of the cars, a lot of precious power is wasted during the wheel spin under acceleration. This happens because the open differentials shifts power to the wheel with less grip but the OBX helical limited slip differential sense the wheel with better grip and bias the power to that wheel. It does this smoothly and constantly without ever completely removing the power from the other wheel. The helical limited slip differential is the torque sensing LSD that features smoothing operation and superior responsiveness. The unit does not require special oil like the clutch type limited slip differentials.
